F.A.Q.

Before covering the chosen object or surface with a nano coating, firstly you need to prepare it properly. A properly prepared surface for coating is considered only when 3 main conditions are fully met:

  1. Surface is completely dry – surfaces soaked with (or wet/moist from) other liquids or water will not absorb nano particles and will not acquire the properties You’re looking for. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the coated surface is as dry as possible. We also highly recommend to apply coatings when the relative humidity in the environment does not exceed 55%.
  2. The surface is clean – all coated surfaces must be cleaned as thoroughly as possible: all scales, dirt and dust have been removed. When applying a nano coating, the active components attach to the first element it encounters, which means that – if it is dirt, it will stick to it – instead of surface You’re willing to coat.
  3. The surface is non-greasy/degreased – all nano coatings are created using composites of several groups of silanes or fluorocarbons – silanes cannot attach to a greasy surface, i.e. if there is wax, paraffin, silicones, grease or resins on the coated surface, and nano coating will not be effective. If you are not sure whether the surface is free from the mentioned substances, simply degrease the surface (for hard surfaces you can use cleaners containing alcohol, for fabrics and textiles – detergents, etc.)

If at least one of these three conditions is not implemented properly, there is a high probability that the durability, efficiency or hydrophobic properties of the nano coating will suffer.

After you have just coated a surface with a nano coating, you need to protect it from water, dirt and friction. It is best to look at a surface covered with nano coatings in the same way as a freshly painted surface – just like paint, the nano coating must set in and harden. The longer the coating takes, the more durable and effective it will be.

The usual incubation (curing) period for average nano coating is 2 hours.

In any case, we do recommend 12 hours, because technically the nano coating only begins to form/harden when the surface is completely dry (meaning transporting liquid dries out), and only then, within 40-60 min. it is formed. Therefore, it is ideal to leave the coated surface for 10-12 hours, (e.g. overnight).

Most nano coatings can be divided into three categories:

  • Water-based (for highly liquid-absorbent, porous surfaces)
  • Alcohol-based (for low/weak absorbent surfaces)
  • Solvent-based (for completely non-absorbent, non-porous/polished surfaces)

So if you have purchased a nano coating for metal surfaces, you can also use it to coat alloy wheels, any metal, chromed or galvanized metal surface in Your household or on Your vehicle.

If you have purchased nano coating for clothing and textiles, you can also use it on haberdashery, fabrics, upholstery, carpeting, textiles, leather, etc.

If you have purchased a coating for shower cabins, you can also use it to coat glass, ceramics, glazed surfaces, mirrors, solar panels and tempered glass.

As our range of nano coatings is rather extensive, we have tried to categorize them according to the function they perform.

When choosing the right product, first of all pay attention to what surface you want to cover – if it is the glass of the shower cabin (therefore, a glass surface), “Nano coating for shower cabins and ceramics” will be most useful to you. You can use this product not only to cover the shower cabin, but also for ceramic surfaces: sink, ceramic tiles, glass surfaces, etc. A great helper here would be our proposed ,,Nano Care” limescale remover.

If you want to cover newly purchased shoes, check whether they are leather or textile – if the shoes are smooth leather, ,,Nano coating for smooth leather” will be most suitable. If you have leather, suede shoes, then it is best to choose ,,Nano coating for shoes”, which is water-based and designed to cover highly water-absorbent surfaces. You can also use it to coat a leather handbag, as well as gloves or light-colored leather pants.

Although the product range is large, and the spectrum of surfaces suitable for nano coatings is very wide, in some cases our coatings are not suitable for use:

  • Water-based nano coatings are not suitable for surfaces that do not absorb moisture (not sure? Just pour a small amount of water on it and see if it is absorbed or repelled)
  • We do not recommend coating the surface that has already been treated with another product (You don’t know? Then pour some water and check if surface absorbs it or not)
  • If the surface requires restoration, is it physically cracked, perforated or otherwise damaged (nano coatings do not change the appearance of the surface, nor do they seal visible holes)
  • Nano coatings are not suitable for surfaces exposed to constant, high friction (e.g. constantly scrubbed with cleaning products, surfaces on which heavy machinery drives, etc.)
  • For textile products that are frequently washed (nano coatings wash off after 2-3 washes)
  • When we want to revive the color, give a shine or wetness effect for the coated surface

No – because we use distilled water with preservatives, technical spirit or solvents in the product composition – the products do not expire. The only thing that can reduce the effectiveness or durability of the coating is termo-shock (frost or heat) – the products must be protected from freezing and extreme heats. This can be easily determined by looking at the bottom of the nano coating bottle – if you see a thick deposit of whiteish residue at the bottom, then the silanes have crystallized and the coating has lost some (30-50%) of its effectiveness. But even then You can shake the product well and use it.

So if you have purchased the product, do not leave it in a room where the product may freeze or high heat might incur.
